The number of corona cases in the district has recently risen sharply.

This means that the “yellow” level has been reached for the seven-day incidence.

In a few days, however, the traffic light should turn red.

Because what is happening can hardly be controlled.

  • What emerged yesterday has now been confirmed: The corona traffic light in the Weilheim-Schongau district jumps to yellow after the seven-day incidence number was 36.9.

  • From Thursday to Friday alone, 19 more cases were added within 24 hours.

  • The district has issued a general decree that contains significantly stricter corona rules.

Which you can read in this post.

Weilheim

- Andrea Jochner-Weiß was often looking for the right words on Friday afternoon.

The district administrator was visibly concerned that more and more tests for the corona virus had ended positively in the past few days.

"Leit, we have to be careful," she said emphatically at the press conference in the district office.

“It's not funny.” Because while 23 new cases had already been registered on Thursday, 19 were added on Friday.

This has already exceeded the first signal value for which more than 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants must be reached within a week.

The Robert Koch Institute transmitted a value of 36.9 on Friday morning, the Corona traffic light jumped to yellow.

This means that some regulations have to be tightened, the district office issued a new general order (see below).

This applies for a week from this Saturday - but Jochner-Weiß fears that the restrictions have not yet been reached.

"We expect that we will break the 50 mark on Monday, Tuesday at the latest," she said.

The Corona traffic light would then be red - then, for example, only a maximum of ten people or two households should meet outdoors.

The reason for the sudden increase is still completely unclear

Where the sudden increase comes from, Dr.

Richela Fischer, deputy head of the health department, did not explain on Friday.

While for a long time it was always possible to trace where those affected were infected, the source of the infection can now be found “in almost no case”.

Only a private party is known to be the trigger - twelve people there were infected with the corona virus.

They cannot be reproached for adhering to the applicable rules, said Fischer.

In which location the party took place, she did not want to reveal - given the numbers, however, it should be a municipality in the western district.

The new cases mean a lot of work for Fischer and the 60 employees of the health department.

Because the contact persons have to be determined.

They are tested immediately after they become known and about five to seven days after meeting the infected person.

Up to 100 contact persons come together for each infected person.

No wonder that the phones in the health department are “completely overloaded”, as Fischer said.

In view of the past few days, “we have to assume that the virus will spread more and more in the population”.

The positive tests are already appearing across the entire district.

On Friday they came from Schongau (one case), Steingaden (3), Bernbeuren (6), Peiting (2), Schwabbruck (2) and Weilheim (5).

Therefore, the new rules also apply to all municipalities.

But if hotspots should emerge, tightening for individual locations is conceivable, said Jochner-Weiß - as was the case in Garmisch-Partenkirchen when an American woman with symptoms had visited various locations.

The

district office's citizen phone can be reached at 0881/681 1779.

It is manned on this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and during the normal opening times on weekdays.

These are the new corona rules according to the general decree of the district

The Weilheim-Schongau district office has issued a general order due to the increasing number of corona infections.

It supplements or tightens the regulations already in force in the Free State.

It is valid from midnight on Saturday until 11:59 pm on Friday, October 23rd.

These are the additional rules: The number of participants allowed for private celebrations such as weddings and birthdays as well as funerals, club and party meetings is reduced by half.

This means that 50 participants are allowed to take part in closed rooms and 100 participants in the open air.

A maximum of ten participants are allowed for a meeting in privately used rooms.

Pupils from the fifth grade must wear a mouth and nose cover also during lunch and at the seat, unless the minimum distance of 1.5 meters can be maintained.

Teachers must also wear a mask if the distance from the students is too small.

Fixed groups must be formed in kindergartens and day care centers.

From 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., restaurants and bars are not allowed to sell drinks or food.

Alcohol may not be served at petrol stations during this time either.

A mouth and nose cover must be worn at the weekly and monthly markets in Weilheim (Kirchplatz and Marienplatz), Schongau (Marienplatz), Penzberg (Stadtplatz), Peiting (Oberer Hauptplatz) and Peißenberg (Glückaufplatz).

No alcohol is allowed in public places between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
