The Ministry of the Interior announced the disclosure of a network of several people illegally transferring foreign funds from outside the country and from the areas where armed terrorist groups reside to Homs Governorate.
The Ministry indicated that through coordination with the judicial police of the Central Bank of Syria, the Criminal Security Branch in Homs arrested all network members and confiscated sums of money from them that were intended for transfer and delivery, cellular devices, a laptop computer, receipts of money transfers, bills and documents proving that they transferred money illegally. Where they confessed to interrogating them about what was attributed to them and that they had transferred nearly one billion Syrian pounds during their four-month work.
According to the ministry, the members of the network admitted that they transfer money from people outside the country and from the areas where armed terrorist groups are present to the Homs governorate, and they receive a percentage of the money for that, and they communicate with each other and with the head of the network residing in the Sarmada area in Idlib countryside through the social media program. WhatsApp “And through international phone numbers, they deliver the amounts and send them through the licensed internal transfer companies without informing their source, at the rate of fifty money transfers every day.
The ministry indicated that two persons who dealt with the network were arrested and their offices were searched in the presence of the judicial police of the Central Bank of Syria. Bringing those arrested to the competent court.
