The Corporal of the Federal Police Diego Di Giácomo (29), murdered during a robbery at an ice cream parlor in Ramos Mejía, became the nineteenth police officer victim of a crime so far this year in the country.
His case is framed in which the majority of the victims suffered: he died during a robbery in the Buenos Aires suburbs.
In the Province, 14 of the 19 crimes committed by members of the security forces occurred.
Thirteen were in Greater Buenos Aires and one in La Plata, according to a survey carried out by
Clarín
.
The numbers indicate that the Conurbano
became a trap for the police
.
Especially the party of La Matanza, where there were five murders of agents.
It was precisely there that
the first and last
of the homicides took place: Damián Edgar José Moyano (29), an officer of the City Police, was assassinated during an entrance in Virrey del Pino, on January 2.
The last was that of Di Giácomo, this Wednesday in Ramos Mejía.
In the rest of the municipalities that registered cases, there was one: Almirante Brown, Florencio Varela, Lanús, Lomas de Zamora, Pilar, Quilmes and Zárate.
Juan Pablo Roldán (34), an inspection officer of the PFA, was stabbed to death in front of the Malba, on September 28.
Behind the Province of Buenos Aires comes the City, which so far this year has registered two murders of police officers.
One of them was that of the PFA inspector officer Juan Pablo Roldán (34), who was stabbed to death by Rodrigo Roza (51) in front of Malba on September 28.
There were also homicides of agents in Entre Ríos (1), Tucumán (1) and Santa Cruz (1).
In the latter province, the victim was the first corporal Ricardo Soto (34), in an event similar to that suffered by Roldán, since he was shot when he was conducting a vehicle control in the town of Puerto Deseado on April 10.
The murderer was a 21-year-old man who left his house with a gun and "upset."
He shot Soto in the armpit, then took a hostage in a plaza, broke into a house and died in a shootout with the police.
No one found an explanation for the attack.
La Bonaerense is also the force that registers the most victims, with seven.
One of the most shocking cases was that of Julia Ailin Valles (30), on August 5 in Lanús.
The local police officer was
run over by motorcycle jets
while doing a vehicle control.
Diego Di Giácomo, a corporal of the Federal Police, was killed during a robbery in Ramos Mejía.
It was the last name that was added to the list of victims.
The photo with Julia's face and the hashtag
#JusticiaporJuliaValles
were seen during the Bonaerense police protest at the beginning of September, where in addition to salary increases, better working conditions were demanded and the risk faced by the agents was reflected.
There were also posters and handkerchiefs with the phrase
"Not a policeman less
.
"
The provincial force is followed by the Federal with three deaths;
the City Police, with two;
Prefecture (2);
Gendarmerie (1);
the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service (1);
the Police of Entre Ríos (1);
the Tucumán Police (1);
and one retired from La Bonaerense.
The 19 crimes of security forces agents mark an
upward trend
compared to last year.
According to data from the official
Télam
agency
, in September 2019 there had been 13 homicides of police officers throughout the country.
Only the Province of Buenos Aires already exceeds that figure.

The data in the report date back to 1996. The worst year in terms of homicides of uniformed men was 2002 with 108.
Mauricio Ezequiel Miño (39), the local policeman murdered in La Matanza.
Returning to the figures for this 2020, of the 19 episodes, 13 correspond to events of insecurity.
It happens that police officers are not only exposed for their profession, but are also targeted by assailants to steal their regulation weapons.
As in the case of Mauricio Ezequiel Miño (39), the agent of the Local Police of La Matanza who
begged the thieves
not to shoot him.
They assassinated him on March 9 at the door of his house, in the town of Villa Madero.
Of the rest of the crimes, four were attacks against the agents, one is being investigated as femicide and another occurred during
training.
The latter was the case of Cristian Alberto Coronel (25), who received a shotgun in the head on August 20.
