The ultra-Orthodox public intends to violate the guidelines for returning to school and by ordering those who are considered senior rabbis in the ultra-Orthodox sector - Lithuanian Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky to open Torah studies and small yeshivas.
The ultra-Orthodox wanted to open all educational institutions as early as last week, immediately after the holidays, but they said they gave a chance to talk to professionals and the government.
The ultra-Orthodox claim that they have formulated an orderly outline for the return of Talmud Torah and small yeshivas, claiming that Roni Gamzo and Roni Noma even approved the outline but on Friday at the cabinet meeting rejected the opening permit and therefore the breaking of tools and Rabbi Kanievsky's order to open the institutions.
The main debate revolves around Talmud Torah (ages 6-13) and the small yeshivas (high school age) that are not supposed to return according to the guidelines, but in Rabbi Kanievsky's instructions, their gates will open tomorrow.
According to an ultra-Orthodox source, the Shas education networks and the independent education network, such as the kindergarten for girls' schools, will remain closed. There are about fifty thousand students in the exemption institutions and about forty thousand small yeshiva students.
A senior ultra-Orthodox source who is in details tells Israel Today - "We are not looking to defy. We do not want to show a show of force here, to wage a revolt against the state or to put a finger in the eye. We did everything we could, had talks, drafted an outline, professionals approved it and blue ministers Lavan and the ombudsman disqualified him on Friday.
We will not give up on Torah study because they have political considerations and a quarrel against Netanyahu.
It is impossible to give up studying the Torah. "
