Moscow: Relations with Europe are at their lowest levels

Russia's permanent representative to the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov, confirmed that relations between Russia and the European Union had reached their lowest levels in recent years after the imposition of sanctions over an incident with Russian blogger Alexei Navalny.

Russia Today quoted Chizov as saying today that the European Union’s decision to impose sanctions confirms that relations between Russia and the European Union will decline to their lowest levels in recent times, noting that the Europeans ’justifications for promoting these sanctions are“ very weak and unacceptable ”.

Chizhov described these European sanctions as being "unlawful and unilateral" as their predecessors, pointing out that the only authority in the world authorized to impose sanctions is the "UN Security Council," noting that France and Germany did not even provide their allies with any evidence of the association of the people on the sanctions list with the Navalny incident.
