The Turkish occupation forces and their terrorist mercenaries cut water again from the city of Hasaka and its western countryside after they stopped operating the Alouk water station in the countryside of Ras al-Ain, depriving about a million people of drinking water.
The director of the Water Corporation, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Ikla, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the Turkish occupation forces and their terrorist mercenaries yesterday shut down the operation of the Alouk station and prevented the establishment’s workers from entering to operate it, indicating that the station, prior to its shutdown, was operating normally and that the electrical current feeds the Alouk project from the electrical network. Yesterday, the Water Corporation installed two electrical transformers and two divers for wells in the Alouk water project in Ras al-Ain countryside submitted by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch and the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the aim of improving and increasing pumping operations.
The Alouk water project in the eastern countryside of Ras al-Ain is the only source for securing drinking water for about one million people in Hasakah, and in previous periods it was subjected to stoppage due to the attack on the station by the Turkish occupation and its terrorist mercenaries.
