Corona makes it difficult for the operators of sports facilities: EC Tegernsee is also grappling with the question of whether it will even open its artificial ice arena this year.
The decision will be made soon.
Because of Corona, the EC Tegernsee does not yet know whether it will open its artificial ice arena this year
In any case, it will be difficult for the ice hockey players - there is only one cabin
The final decision should be made at a committee meeting
Tegernsee
- The opportunities to ice-skate in the Tegernsee Valley are rare.
And the situation could become even more difficult in times of Corona: It is still unclear whether the popular artificial ice arena at the shooting range in Tegernsee will open its doors at all this year.
That will be decided at a committee meeting next Thursday, explains Andreas Gerold, chairman of the Eissport-Club (EC) Tegernsee, when asked.
But he is already making it clear: "It will be very difficult."
Gerold gives little hope to the ice hockey teams.
The sporting activities in the stadium are problematic because they only have a single changing room.
"And a maximum of eight people are allowed to stay in it," explains Gerold.
Setting up additional tents on the site would be a theoretical option, but it would be too time-consuming, says the chairman.
Club wants to at least enable a public run
However, efforts are being made to at least enable the public run in the ice arena.
"We are an open-air stadium, so we are allowed to let 100 people on the field," explains Gerold with a view to the current Corona regulations.
However, there are still problems: For example, the EC is not allowed to collect cash.
Ice skate rental is also not possible.
"We still want to try to get it done," announced the chairman.
At least shortly before, during and after the Christmas holidays, the association would like to produce ice cream.
Apparently, a new location for an ice rink has opened up in Bad Wiessee
Meanwhile, in Bad Wiessee, the search for a new ice rink has evidently made some headway.
"We stumbled upon a possible location by chance," said Mayor Robert Kühn (SPD) in the local council after CSU colleague Florian Sareiter checked the ongoing issue.
According to Kühn, he could not say whether the offer would be something this year in view of the current events around Corona.
"It's not the top priority at the moment, but we're sticking to it."
