Nearly 4 am on Monday (19th), the police received a report from a passer-by, stating that a water pipe burst and a fire broke out outside of Wong Tai Sin SKH Kidd Primary School.
The fire rushed to put out the fire, and the police notified the Water Supplies Department to send officers to turn off the water switch. It was initially believed that a salt water pipe connecting the school wall to the ground had burst.
According to the scene, the water pipe burst and sprayed out about 2 meters high water column, spraying horizontally towards the pavement and road, flooding part of the road facing Tai Shing Street and Caihong Road; beside the wooden bench next to the water pipe, there was a pile of burnt paper skins. There are also traces of blackening on the school wall. It is not ruled out that the water pipe will burst after the paper caught fire. However, the fire department believes that it is not suspicious at first, and the actual cause of the fire remains to be investigated.
