The Homs Fire Brigade today extinguished two fires that broke out in agricultural and forestry lands in the governorate countryside.
Colonel Othman Juda, commander of the Homs Fire Brigade, told SANA's correspondent that the regiment, in cooperation with the Civil Defense, put out a fire that broke out with forests and olives near the fortress road in Tal Kalakh countryside and another broke out with herbs and olive trees between the towns of Al-Suwairi and Al-Zafarana in the western countryside of Homs.
Last week, firefighting teams in Homs managed to put out several fires affecting fruit trees and forests in the western countryside of the governorate.
