The owner of Anavi Tali, who was fatally wounded, the only one who sets a high standard, and the district commanders in the Home Front Command, who do not know when they will take off their uniforms.

Months after the original date, which occurs every year on Lag B'Omer, the IDF will mark today the annual day of appreciation for the reserve system.

Since the original date occurred this year during the first wave of the corona virus and in a severe closure, the day of appreciation was postponed.

A variety of discussions and events will be held at the Knesset, some of them zoomed in, to mark the special day, including an examination of the corona damage such as damage to the level of reserve royalties for servants in the Knesset and more.

The IDF notes that in light of the Corona epidemic, the need for reservists has increased: "The temporary order requires the Home Front Command to mobilize reservists extensively, both in the number of servants and in the number of reservists," Variety for recruiting reservists and directing reservists from across the military to various key positions.

A recently established recruitment team deals with locating, sorting and recruiting for various tasks and is involved in all individual issues and policies from the moment of detection until the actual day of registration.

Precedent-setting, the manpower industry has decided to address citizens directly for targeted tasks, such as informing various target audiences, managing hotels, medicine and more.

These are the biggest highs of the reserve this year

200 days of reserve and the clock is ticking

"How long will I be in the reserve?", Laughs Col. (Res.) Sharon Gat, commander of the Moriah District in the Home Front Command, who is in charge of the entire Jerusalem area, Givat Ze'ev and Ma'ale Adumim. "(Res.) Itamar Gamliel, commander of the Sharon sub-district in the Home Front Command, which includes Netanya, where he lives, and dozens of surrounding localities, smiles when he hears the same question." There is a stage where you stop counting how many reserve days you do.

I did about 200 days of reserve.

The word 'as required' is not just a slogan.

We have a joke in the district that we are on an open ticket. "The two are the IDF's reserve reserves this year.

The two officers, who are in charge of the Corona issue in large areas of Israel on behalf of the Home Front Command, left their businesses at the beginning of the first wave and do not know when they will return, running them remotely while having a particularly long service, already similar to regular service.

Sharon owns Caliber 3, an academy for the fight against terrorism in Gush Etzion, while Itamar owns a security and cleaning company nationwide, which means that the two are responsible for many workers and dealing with their situation during this period, along with hundreds of thousands of people in charge.

"I came to the Home Front Command two years ago, originally from the Golani Regiment and a former lieutenant colonel of the Alexandroni Brigade," Sharon shares.

It's not that they are fighting in Lebanon or Gaza, I did not imagine how significant this role is, today I understand that there is no more significant role than this in the IDF.

Itamar and Sharon both have families, and do not hide the fact that this is a challenging situation, where they are out of the house for hundreds of days a year as reserve officers.

"My little boy is six months old, born in the middle of the first wave. Most of the burden is on my dear wife, who takes care of our three children, with the eldest being close to five and the second three. There is no doubt that this is a complex challenge," notes Itamar.

Despite the challenges, the two note that they feel a tremendous sense of mission in military service on days like these.

"We have wonderful people here who also perform dozens and hundreds of reserve days a year," says Itamar.

"Since March we have been in an ongoing campaign. I go to the reserve on purpose, see how our people get involved, leave families and work and understand that it is about protecting the house. Sometimes you protect the house from missiles, earthquakes or fires, and sometimes from corona."

"To this day, they will not need me. I am here. It is clear that it is difficult as a company owner and a family member, but it is a national mission," Sharon agrees.

"I am in charge of the micro-cosmos of the State of Israel - the largest ultra-Orthodox city, the largest Arab city and in general the largest city. It is an honor to operate in such a city in a complex period and to help the residents."

The couple who do the most reserve together

"It's a kind of war, and everyone is doing what they can to benefit," explains RNG (Res.) Shai Levin, who has led him and his wife, Lt. Col. (Res.) Neve Levin, to perform together so far 175 days Reserve together.

The two, residents of the settlement of Shimshit in the Lower Galilee, work in various fields in the Home Front Command, he is a representative in the Sgt. Reserve days.

"When I graduated from the IDF in 2014, it was clear to me that I wanted to continue to contribute my knowledge, so three years later I became a population officer in the Sharon sub-district," explains Naveh. "In the first wave, we did a lot to help residents in various ways.

I am glad that they are using me and the knowledge I have gained to help the State of Israel.

"In the first wave, we would do shifts - he would come home and I would go out, around the clock."

Shai has been working for a long time coordinating transportation for Corona patients and transporting them to hotels.

"This is a very stressful job because in the second wave it was necessary to move families where Corona is ill quickly. The danger of internal infection is great, so a quick evacuation is needed. For me this is a particularly important job, to feel that you are doing something.

Alongside the activities in the Home Front Command, the two are raising three children - the first is 23 years old, in permanent service in the Nahal GDSR, the second, 17 years old who is the Israeli triathlon champion and the third - 14 years old "student in zoom", as they define it

Whenever they are not in the army or at work, Shai and Naveh cultivate the family hobby - marathons.

"We have two sets of clothes - uniforms and sportswear," smiles Naveh.

"We are a family in motion."

Shai says that the two compete over who does more marathons while in reserve service.

"In the meantime she's leading," he laughs and Naveh replies with a smile: "Okay, you're in reserve, you're allowed.

Eternal Order 8: The oldest reservist fighter in the IDF

Nachcha Gilboa is a reservist with the rank of Major (Res.), And despite being 82 years old, that does not stop him from fulfilling every dream and goal. "When I walk around with this uniform, I am proud.

The people of Israel are alive, "he says.

Gilboa, who has owned the Anabi Tali company for more than 60 years, immigrated from Libya at the age of 14 with his mother and younger brother, after his father was killed in World War II.

At the age of 18, he enlisted in the 890th Paratroopers Regiment and fought in all Israeli systems - Operation Kadesh, the Six Days, the Yom Kippur War, the Peace of the Galilee, Second Lebanon and even Eitan Cliff.

He wears seven different signs of war on his uniform.

During the Six Day War, Lehem was killed in a campaign to liberate Jerusalem and was fatally wounded.

Although he was allowed to be released from reserve due to his injury he did not give up on himself, and after two years of intensive rehabilitation returned to the active reserve service which he maintains to this day.

As a reservist he keeps in touch with the bereaved families of the brigade and gives lectures to soldiers about his military service.

For his work, he received the rank of lieutenant colonel and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Southern Command Herzli Halevi.

Salute: The city has the largest number of reservists

The city where the most reservists serve is Tel Aviv, the second largest city in the country.

In addition, it holds another record - the number of battalion commanders.

While in a standard city there are usually two or three, Tel Aviv currently has no less than 15 battalion commanders.

One of those battalions is Lt. Col. (Res.) Tom Cohen, 531th Battalion of the Gunners, a battalion that was nominated as an outstanding president. Stops him from serving in the reserves.

Tom served in the artillery until his position as a sergeant major (equivalent to a company commander) and in the reserve he served as a sergeant major and as a sergeant major. During his reserve days, he fought in Operation Eitan and Cast Lead.

Last September, he was appointed commander of the 531st Battalion. "There is no doubt that the reserve system is one of the most significant in the IDF," he says.

"Getting an outstanding battalion is a privilege, as well as continuing to serve in parallel with civilian life, in the division in which I served from the age of 18 is a significant experience."

The most special of them all: the only one that holds the record for the number of reservists

There is nothing to expand on the activities of Squadron 13.

The IDF's Naval Commando Unit is considered one of the best in the world, and over the years has carried out a variety of daring activities in the enemy's home front.

The unit has won the Chief of Staff's award several times for its operational contribution in all arenas and for developing original and innovative operational capabilities and imparting high standards of conduct of excellence and striving for victory. What is less known is that Squadron 13 is one of the units The corona.

For many years, Squadron 13 has been a leader with the involvement of reservists, and even the Squadron's Reserve Unit won the President's Excellence Award in 2017. The IDF notes that

The reserve servants are involved in the operational activities on a whole issue: in maintaining the competence for combat and in the sorting and training activities in the unit.

"Their service is of great importance in maintaining the unit's readiness for combat, in shaping the character of the unit's servants and in passing on the unit's legacy in both the military and civilian spheres."
