FIGAROVOX / TRIBUNE - For the mayor (LR) of Cannes, it is Islamism as a whole, including in its less violent manifestations, which constitutes a serious threat.

Samuel Paty was beheaded by an Islamist fundamentalist for having exercised his profession as a teacher and for having wanted to explain to his students why reason and critical thinking must prevail over passions

and religious fanaticism.

The urgency is no longer only to fight against this terrorism which kills but to fight the Islamist ideology which nourishes it, which is deployed on social networks, through certain mosques and through associations which relay a discourse aiming to replace quietly Islamic law to the laws of the Republic.

It's a whole nation that's got to rise.

It is a whole people who must make a bulwark to eradicate this evil.
