Dissolutions of the CCIF and Baraka City: what do we know about these associations targeted by Darmanin?

The Minister of the Interior announced Monday that he intended to propose the dissolution of these NGOs considered to be “separatist”, three days after the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty.


In the wake of the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced that he would soon

“propose”

, in the Council of Ministers, the dissolution of several associations considered to be “separatist”

,

including the very controversial Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF).

The tenant of Beauvau then specified that he had

"a certain number of elements"

which

"allow him to think"

that it is about an

"enemy of the Republic"

.

The CCIF has indeed contributed according to him to the "fatwa" launched by parents of students against Samuel Paty, professor of history and geography beheaded in the street Friday by a terrorist.

But Gérald Darmanin also specified that he would target other structures, like the sulphurous Islamic NGO Baraka City.

In reaction to the Home Secretary's announcements, the founder and president of Baraka City said on Twitter that he would

"file a complaint for abuse of power"
