The accusations are crossed and the crime of Benavídez divided the neighborhood.

Those who knew the victim,

Marcos Verón (27)

, demand justice for the murder and ask that not only the man who shot him - who is detained - be investigated, but also

the rest of the family members: they

accuse them of participate in the brutal attack.

The alleged owners of the land denounced that - together with the attempted usurpation by Verón - they suffered

"threats"

, that they "attacked them with a machete" and that they beat a young woman.

Now justice seeks to determine what happened between these two families before the murder.

The conflict had started on Thursday when, as confirmed by investigators, Marcos Verón arrived at a piece of land located on the corner of Tomás Godoy Cruz and Rivarola streets, in the "El Arco" neighborhood, surrounded by several private neighborhoods and about eight blocks from the Pan-American highway and near Nordelta.

It is not clear

whose legal ownership

of the land is.

Several members of a family named Cejas have built their houses in the surroundings of this abandoned lot.

Ahead, behind, to the side, there are cousins, nephews and brothers.

For the investigators, the legal situation of that land

is "irregular"

and

no documentation to support possession

has been included in the file

, they confirmed to

Clarín

.

But for "years" members of this family have lived there.

Marcos Javier Verón, the young man who was murdered in Benavídez during an attempted usurpation of land.

The truth is that on Thursday someone called the police and

denounced Marcos for usurpation

: he brought some tools and materials to settle on the property.

"My son worked as a painter, used to do trades, and rented one block from my house, but later he couldn't pay the rent any more. He

agreed with a neighbor that he could settle in this place

, so he bought things and went to build the box "said Vanesa Delmagro, the mother of the murdered young man.

"There is a cause for usurpation of the day before the crime. The police took the one who was later the victim of the homicide, who left the place,

but the next day he returned,

" sources of the case consulted by

Clarín

confided

Juan Carlos Cejas, the man arrested for the crime of Marcos Verón.

Her family claims that she acted to defend a niece from an alleged attack.

Marcos returned and on Friday tragedy broke out.

It all started around 6 pm when he arrived with the intention of installing four wooden panels, something that would become the walls of his box.

"I found out because a neighbor came to tell us that my son was being beaten. The first to arrive was my daughter who started arguing with this woman, who is the niece of my son's murderer. Then I arrived. They

wanted to hit

me.

I, my daughter, they threatened us all

. It was crazy but all in words, I didn't think it could end in this.

'In ten minutes you will see'

, they told us. And then, in minutes, everything happened ", he Vanesa tells

Clarín

from her home, one block from the crime scene.

"Immediately

Juan Carlos Cejas

arrived

with another person, they were armed. It was Mario Cejas, Juan Carlos's brother, who let him pass so that he could kill my son: he pointed directly at him, he had no time for anything.

Everything ahead of me, I saw how he shot him and killed him.

He fell forward, suddenly, I threw myself on top, I felt the bullets because they

kept shooting around

. They never called the police, the ambulance never came, we had to load him into a car to take him to the hospital of Benavídez and there he died ", Vanesa is anguished.

The woman, a mother of seven children, denied the allegations of threats and claimed that the police did not want to intervene to help her son.

The land that Verón tried to occupy is surrounded by properties of the Cejas family.

It is not yet clear who has the legal property.

It is at this point that the story becomes confusing and the versions change depending on who is telling it.

Lourdes Cejas (21) was one of the complainants of the usurpation, she says that this land is hers: "My grandparents lived on that land for more than 50 years, then it was my father's. Now we are here," he says.

Lourdes is the niece of the man arrested for killing Marcos and the daughter of the man who sent for him.

"We do not know if this person agreed with someone to settle there because we did not speak with my cousin, who lives next door. If we had known that, we would not take him out. We made the complaint on Thursday when the police came and took him away. Friday, when he came back, we kicked him out again. I told him to leave and he began to threaten me. In one hand he had a machete and in the other an iron. They came in a gang.

That's why my father called my uncle, because I he wanted to kill

. When they arrived there were four men and later two women, "says Lourdes from the other end of the phone.

Marcos Javier Verón was 27 years old and worked as a painter.

She says that her father had to leave the house where he lived because - after the crime - they were threatened and that he is afraid of what might happen.

"The men were on the ground, then there was the mother and the sister of the deceased. I asked the neighbors to call the police but while they were beating me I couldn't do anything. The neighbors didn't intervene. Later, when everything happened,

I went I was the one who contacted 911,

"explains Lourdes, who insists that her uncle

" defended "her

.

"Let them come to want to appropriate what is not theirs, with the machetes to give fear. As a woman they grabbed me between gangs I banged the blows they gave me, they came to shit me with a stick between two. My son's father, For defending me, he also ended up injured. I get up every day to go to work so that these people come to want to take everything from above. Each one defends what belongs to one, that they want to come to appropriate is anger and impotence "

, posted Lourdes on Facebook along with a series of photos showing scrapes on his leg and arms from the confrontation.

Investigation sources confirmed to

Clarín

that, at the moment, there are no testimonies in the file that made reference to any other weapon at the scene of the event.

Neither in the hands of the usurpers nor in the hands of the fatal victim.

According to Juan Carlos, the detainee,

that weapon belonged to his father and now no one knows where it is

.

The truth is that the 27-year-old, father of a 2-year-old boy and an amateur boxer, was killed in the middle of a dispute over this piece of land.

"He has a record," Lourdes launches to say that Marcos had a conviction for theft that he served in 2016.

Juan Carlos Cejas killed willing to defend that vacant lot and - he says - to defend himself from an attack with machetes.

He is now detained at the 1st Police Station in San Isidro at the disposal of the prosecutor Laura Capra, from the Benavídez decentralized prosecutor's office, who investigated him for the crime of "

homicide aggravated by the use of firearms

.

"

His defender is expected to file a request tomorrow to be deemed to have acted in

"legitimate defense

.

"

The detainee testified and said that "he regrets having had the weapon" and that he shot the ground "three times" to try to "drive away" Verón but that

"he was thrown with the machete" and that is why he fired

.

Matías Ayunta, the defense attorney for the Cejas family, announced that tomorrow they will present the videos of the minutes prior to the fact to endorse Cejas's statement and with the intention that the justice modify the cover of the case and grant him release from prison.
