This Monday, the so-called indigenous minga gathered approximately 7,000 indigenous people who have arrived in Bogotá. They traveled from the department of Cauca to denounce the murders against several of its members, massacres of civilians, to request protection from the national government and more social investment in the region. Although the protesters demand a direct dialogue with the president, Iván Duque has said that "there are no conditions" and that he will maintain the dialogue through delegates. The indigenous minga will coincide this week with the call for a national strike of workers' centrals, teachers and students scheduled for October 21.
