Further relief in public transport activities.

Following the decision of the Corona Cabinet to lift the restrictions imposed during the closure, public transport will return to full activity until 22:00 at night, and on Saturday evening it will operate until midnight.

This is what the Minister of Transportation, MK Miri Regev, decided after assessing the situation with senior officials in her office.

As part of the decision, starting today (Monday), the service lines from Tel Aviv to Ben Gurion Airport, and the service lines to the holy sites, including the Western Wall, Rachel's Tomb, Mount of Olives, Mount of Olives and Mount Meron, will return to full operation this weekend. A week was interrupted during the closure period.

However, bus lines that transport students to educational institutions and academic lines will not operate until they return to school.

The train will operate, Sunday through Thursday only, with no weekends.

The train stations at Ben Gurion Airport, Jerusalem (Malcha), Raanana (west and south), Hod Hasharon (Sokolov) and Kfar Saba (Nordau) will not open at this stage.

The buses, service taxis, light rail and Israel Railways will operate Sunday to Thursday until 22:00 at night, with a limited occupancy of up to 50%.

Travel on the Israel Railways will only be possible by ordering a travel voucher in advance.

During the closure days, the average number of passengers per day was about 700,000, compared to about 300,000 passengers during the first closure period.

In light of these data, and in order to prevent overcrowding on buses, the Minister of Transportation decided to increase public transport activity as early as last week, and it returned to almost full activity.

At the same time, the "Close Bus" app updates data on the use of transportation on closing days in the last month, compared to pre-closure.
