Burglary occurred in To Kwa Wan.

At nearly 10:30 pm yesterday (19th), when a male resident of a tenement building at No. 494 Chatham Road North returned to his home, he found that the main gate of the house was locked and unable to enter. He suspected theft and called the police immediately.

Sources at the scene said that because the unit used a large traditional old iron gate, the police attempted to break the door and failed. Eventually, more than an hour later, a fire-fighting electric saw was required to break the door into the house. Abandoned in the hall.

It is understood that the occupants of the unit left home at 6 a.m. yesterday and did not return home until the incident occurred. The building involved was scaffolded for renovation. At about 2 p.m. yesterday, a resident witnessed a person wearing a reflective shirt. The man, climbing on the shed, is unknown whether it is related to the case.

After investigation, the police initially did not rule out that the culprit climbed the shed and sneaked into the unit through the window to commit the crime. The case was classified as "burglary" and the unit was counted on whether there was any loss.
