The portal of the Al Hidaya mosque in Montélimar (Drôme) was broken in and tagged on the night of Friday 16 to Saturday 17 October, reports

This incident took place just hours after the assassination of Samuel Paty, professor of history at Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.

The mosque barrier was found on the parking lot floor on Saturday around 8:30 am, according to

It looks like she was hit by a car.
The inscriptions tagged in white paint on the portal were, for the most part, illegible.
The only identifiable word was "Muhammad".

According to

, the president of the association which manages the mosque lodged a complaint on Saturday morning and plans to install video surveillance cameras around the site.
He also denounced the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine attack and said he did not understand the amalgamation that was made.
