Toulouse: the body of a septuagenarian found in a cupboard, her son arrested

Relatives of the 72-year-old woman had not heard from her for nearly a week. Her son was taken into police custody.


It is 7 p.m. Sunday, October 18 when the Toulouse police receive a call from a man who announces having killed his mother before hiding her body in a closet, reports this Monday the Actu Toulouse site.

The police immediately went to the site, avenue Jean-Moulin, in the Empalot district, south of the pink city.

, during the search of the accommodation, the police are instantly seized by the smell of putrefaction emanating from it.

The body of the septuagenarian is finally found in a closet in the apartment, as her son had indicated.

The corpse is besides larded with stab wounds and it would have remained in the cupboard for several days.

The victim's son, a man in his forties with a heavy psychiatric history who was in the apartment when the body was found, was immediately arrested and taken into police custody.

The latter is currently being heard by the men of the Departmental Security in charge of the investigation by the Toulouse prosecutor's office.

A few days before the macabre discovery, the police had already presented themselves to the home of the septuagenarian and had come face to face with the son of the latter, reports La Dépêche.

He then told them that his mother had gone shopping.
