Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the event aims to train and qualify children on how to make mosaic paintings that express the authentic Syrian heritage, in addition to embodying interest in the Arab Children's Day and working to develop the children's skills and abilities, pointing out that the artistic activities in the celebration focus on Authentic Arab heritage, including performances by Armenian and Circassian folk groups, in addition to traditional musical and heritage pieces.

Dr. Muhammad Khatami, the supervisor of the mosaic workshop, stated that the workshop included the participation of 25 young children and girl, during which they carried out several samples of mosaic paintings dating back to the Byzantine period in the museums of Maarat and Apamea and an embodiment of the Byzantine carpet with engineering drawings by placing mosaic cubes on the panels and practically training To create these paintings to express our culture and our environment using simple materials of gypsum, white cement and colors.

A number of children and adolescents expressed their happiness to participate in the workshop, through which they learned how to make mosaic panels that express the history of ancestors, the nation’s civilization, its culture and its effects.

Samira Sebahi, from the life skills team participating in the event, pointed out the importance of children's participation in making mosaic paintings and highlighting this ancient heritage art, reviving it and presenting it again, while the teacher Shatha Rab'a indicated that the participation of young people in the event contributes to increasing their scientific and practical knowledge, developing their skills and informing them about the cultural heritage Syrian.
