The Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, launched a solemn appeal to the “
elected representatives of the Republic
” on Tuesday afternoon, during the session of questions to governments.
In front of the deputies present in the bays of the National Assembly, the minister spoke on "after" the attack, while a teacher was beheaded in the street in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines) last Friday.
"
We must very clearly affirm that the principle of secularism does not suffer from any compromise, (...) no questioning

Before discussing the next school year, November 2: “
I would like each of the deputies, like each of the senators too, (...) to be present on November 2 in the establishments with the teachers.

While supportive phrases such as "I am a teacher" are multiplying on the signs of the French which pay tribute to the murdered teacher Samuel Paty, Jean-Michel Blanquer wanted to convey a "
message
