There are three fully equipped pavilions to receive up to 2,400 infected with coronavirus. But despite the fact that the Province pays $ 500 pesos per day, on average only 110 people decided to intern.

In

Argentina

the total number of people infected by coronavirus already exceeds one million cases.

More than

half

of them correspond to the

Province of Buenos Aires,

where some 500,000 people contracted the disease.

From the beginning of the quarantine, the provincial authorities were

erratic

.

At first they doubted the impact that the confinement would have on the economy.

Then they were convinced that strict isolation was the best strategy for strengthening the “extra-hospital” system and preparing beds in different hospital centers.

One of the spaces specially equipped to cope with the pandemic was

Tecnópolis

, the complex located in Villa Martelli,

Vicente López

Party

,

which was transformed into a health center with capacity for

2,400 patients

in three different pavilions.

However, today the occupancy of beds is below

5%.

"

The current average between people who are discharged and those infected who enter is

110 people,

" they pointed out from Tecnópolis to Clarín.

The fact is that, despite the strategies that were carried out by the Province, today there are few infected who agree to enter the imposing center of the North of Greater Buenos Aires.

In addition, since very few tests were carried out compared to other countries, many asymptomatic infected patients could not be identified so that they could be isolated in Technopolis.

It was in July when Governor Axel Kicillof announced a new subsidy: those who voluntarily move to these new complexes will receive

500 pesos a day

.

Thus, the "Accompany" program considers the payment of up to

7,500 pesos

to those who must spend 15 days interned.

In July, Kicillof announced a subsidy of 500 pesos a day for people who voluntarily enter Tecnópolis.

From the direction of the isolation center, they call the space "sanitary park" since it "maintains the spirit of Tecnópolis with its cultural activities".

When the first patient was installed, Daniel Gollán, Minister of Health, remarked: “This is a community center (although before the same Province had named it an

" isolation center "

) and it is a hospital, where people will come to spend it. the best possible the ten days that he needs isolation ”.

Those responsible for the area point out: "The people who spend their stay in the place carry out different activities since they are patients with mild or asymptomatic symptoms."

Thus, those who enter the extra-hospital space of

28 thousand square meters

have workshops and activities coordinated by the Ministry of National Culture.

Volunteers from the Argentine Red Cross work in the Tecnópolis health park.

An area of 7 thousand square meters was exclusively reserved for

recreation

: it is a "cultural multi-space" where crafts are made, Argentine films, recitals, series and even virtual talks on science, sports and music are projected.

There, the setting of the rooms was also taken into account: each corridor has the name of a recognized artist and the colors red, green and yellow were excluded to eliminate any relationship with the state of danger.

In any case, the offer was not attractive: despite exceeding 2,000 infections a day in Buenos Aires, the average number of internees barely reaches 110 people.

Volunteering in Tecnópolis

"In the sanitary park different organizations work together with

volunteers

", comment from Tecnópolis.

One of the organizations that is working there is

White Helmets,

belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship.

From there, they are in charge of designing and executing humanitarian assistance through a working model based on cooperation and solidarity.

Something similar happens with the

Argentine Red Cross,

the civil and humanitarian association that trains thousands of people throughout the Argentine territory in first aid.

“In the course of the work, different trainings are carried out for their volunteers”, conclude those responsible for the conditioned sanitary park in Tecnópolis.
