Inclusive design: the jewel for hearing impaired people

Meeting with the two young French women, Flora Fixy and Julia Dessirier, who are rethinking jewelry creation around hearing aids.


Already noticed at the Hyères Festival in 2018, the two French Flora Fixy and Julia Dessirier won, on October 2, the Grand Prize for Inclusive Design during the first edition of the Eyes On Talents and APF France Handicap competition ( as part of Paris Good Fashion).

The reason for their success?

The Hearring project, hearing aid jewelry.

The winners were made aware of the issue of disability by one of their friends, Kate Fichard, a young deaf photographer.

"It was she who gave us the impetus to take action and consider the hearing aid from another point of view"

, explains the duo behind the FandD creation studio since 2016. In this case to see it as an ear jewel and a fashion accessory that is displayed, and no longer as a prosthesis that we try to hide.

Like glasses that have gained their status as an object linked to the trend.

Julia Dessirier and Flora Fixy received the Grand Prize for Inclusive Design for their hearing aid jewelry.
