Israeli gunfire hit the province of Quneitra in southern Syria, official Syrian media reported on Wednesday (October 21st).
A missile hit a school in a rural village north of Quneitra, the Syrian news agency SANA said, without giving further details.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported a missile fire in the area, adding that Israel was
"probably"
responsible.
The NGO adds that the attack hit a base of pro-Iranian militias.

Alongside Russia, and as Israel's nemesis, Iran has been an essential support for the Damascus regime during the nine-year-long civil war that sweeps the country.
Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes and missile fire on Syria since the outbreak of civil war in 2011, targeting Iranian and Lebanese forces of pro-Iranian Hezbollah as well as Syrian government troops.
The Israeli military rarely claims individual strikes.
The war in Syria has killed more than 380,000 people and displaced millions more since it began in 2011, with the brutal crackdown on anti-government protests.
