Luis Arce, the winner of the presidential election in Bolivia, responds in an interview with Carmen Aristegui about the legal proceedings against him: «There are many lawsuits that have not only been opened to comrade Evo, but also to myself and other social leaders and trade unions and the Movement to Socialism. There are many trials that all we have to do is defend ourselves in the corresponding legal instances. All including partner Evo. There, the only thing that must be guaranteed in court is that due process is followed. That there are no excesses like the ones we have seen during this [transitional] government there have been in judicial instances. We would hope that this will gradually improve in the sense that the current legal regulations are strictly complied with; and in this way, adequate trials are guaranteed to all of us who are militants, including comrade Evo.
