The main suspect in the assault of a police officer last week in Savigny-sur-Orge was indicted Tuesday, October 20 for attempted homicide on a person holding public authority, AFP learned from the prosecution of Essonne.

The alleged driver presented himself Monday to the departmental security of Essonne, accompanied by a lawyer.
He was then placed in detention.
A request for pre-trial detention was made Tuesday by the prosecution.

Last week, on the night of October 13 to 14, in Savigny-sur-Orge, a crew from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) wanted to check the identity of people considered "
suspicious near a vehicle that was 'turned out to be stolen
,' according to a statement from the prosecution.
The driver then started "
suddenly
" and "
hit
" a police sergeant, "
before running over him to flee
."
The 40-year-old brigadier-chef was seriously injured.
The driver, identified by the officers and "
unfavorably known
" by the police, then fled and was wanted since the facts.
This man, who was born in 1981 according to police sources, was also indicted Tuesday for concealment of property from a theft in a state of recidivism and use of false license plate, said the prosecution.
