This morning, the writer and researcher Walid Al-Jallad, died at the age of 85, after suffering a stroke.
The body of the deceased was buried from the Italian Hospital. His body was prayed over at Al-Othman Mosque and buried in the Dahdah cemetery.
The late, born in Damascus 1935, received his education in Damascus, graduated from the Teachers House and the Military College, as an officer in the armed forces. He also obtained a master’s in military sciences and worked as a translator and founder in the Arab Encyclopedia.
The late member of the Research and Studies Association of the Arab Writers Union wrote and translated dozens of literary and military books, including (Fortifications in the Russian Mountains) and (Memoirs and Opinions) for the Soviet Minister of Defense Marshal Zhukov, (Castles in the Days of the Crusades), (The Concerned Dictionary of Military Expressions and Terms) and many others.
