"There is a kind of machismo culture that starts from things as basic as calling the mayors' barons of the suburbs," said Buenos Aires governor Axel Kicillof in an
unusual "gender" confusion.
The governor's furcio occurred at
the presentation of ESiGen, the country's first trade union school for gender
, aimed at union leaders, activists and women with leadership conditions and aspirations.
Throughout the presentation, the provincial president turned his speech around machismo and gender inequalities.
The confusion between men and barons occurred minutes after taking the floor.

"The politics of the Province of Buenos Aires is closely associated with the masculine and comes from a macho tradition. It is not because they have carried it forward to this Province or its leadership has not counted on women, but because there is a kind of culture of machismo that starts from things as basic as calling the mayors or leaders of the Conurbano the "barons of the Conurbano", he sentenced.
And he added that "we must dedicate ourselves not to deconstructing that machismo but to demolishing it."
