They want to be heard, day and night.
By giving a "
concert at Roselyne
", under the windows of the Ministry of Culture on Wednesday at 3:30 pm, the actors of the performing arts wish to express their "
opposition to the curfew
".
Since Saturday, October 17, artists from Ile-de-France and eight other metropolises have been forced to lower the curtain no later than 9 p.m.
With
La Lettre du Musicien
, Grégoire Letouvet, one of the organizers, invites “
artists, producers and places of performances
” to take part in the concert.
He likens the curfew to "
a real drama for everyone in the performing arts
", which "is
dying
".
He cites as an example "
half of jazz clubs
" forced to close because they cannot advance their opening hours.

On the event's Facebook account, the “
informal collectives of musicians and artists
” at the initiative of this “
concert in Roselyne
” announced the program.
Their artistic choices owe nothing to chance:
Va pensiero
, the choir of slaves from
Nabucco
by Verdi, the
Sarabande
by Handel - a “
Requiem for the live performance
” -,
Le Déserteur
by Boris Vian - including “
the lyrics will be adapted to the circumstances
”and
Bella Ciao
.
"
Unfair
"
treatment
Grégoire Letouvet deplores the fact that the performing arts are treated in an “
unfair
” manner.
"
We kept silent, trying to save our structures, by adapting
," he argues.
We have drastically adopted the health measures requested and, until proven otherwise, no source of contamination has left a performance hall
”.
His hope is that theaters and cinemas will get a waiver to delay the implementation of the curfew by an hour.
