Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi said today (Wednesday) that the terrorist tunnel from the Gaza Strip that the IDF uncovered yesterday was a significant asset of the enemy.
During a tour of the Corona Squadron at Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Kochavi referred to the security incidents that took place in the southern region and emphasized that the IDF is determined to address any threat.
"This week the truth is that significant things happened.
One of them is locating and exposing the very significant terrorist tunnel in the Gaza Strip.
"It is a clear example that the threats have not disappeared, that we have many challenges and in general the last 24 hours are 24 hours of operational activity in all sectors, which reminds us all that there are many challenges except the corona," said the chief of staff.
"As for the tunnel, it is a very significant tunnel. It was not only interrupted, but located very professionally. I do not want to go into technical details about the tunnel, but can say that it was a very significant asset of the enemy and we will continue to treat it and the underground threat by all methods. And by all the most advanced means, from technology to intelligence, "Kochavi added.
