These are words that are rarely heard from politics in the USA at the moment: "I was wrong."
The US politician Chris Christie wrote this sentence after his corona infection, which he had for the time being, at the end of last week.
The words seemed like a clear message to Donald Trump, who had downplayed the virus several times since his hospital discharge and exclusive treatment.
Christie admitted, "I was wrong not to wear a mask when announcing Amy Coney Barrett, and it was wrong not to wear a mask to my multiple debate prep sessions with the President and the rest of the team."
When Trump's candidate for the vacant chair in the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett, was officially unveiled in the White House garden on September 26, Christie sat in the front rows.
Photos show how he hugged people and kept no distance.
"I don't know who infected me and how often this person has been tested before," Christie said late last week.
He felt safe.
