Financial revenues in the Syrian Postal Corporation branch in Sweida during the past nine months amounted to 43 million and 376 thousand pounds, with a rate of implementation of 105 percent of the scheme, amounting to 41 million and 250 thousand pounds.
The director of the branch, Walid Abu Shaheen, stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the corporation is working to implement the services as required, increase the productivity of post offices in the governorate and optimally invest the capabilities available therein, so good postal services were provided during the last period, indicating that the number of deposited items reached 37,900 and completed documents for others. The employee, civil and justice registries 11,500 documents, while the number of leased postal boxes reached 59 boxes and lottery cards sold about 85,300 cards, and the pension services transferred to retirees were 96 services, of which 44,000 were home services.
Abu Shaheen pointed out that the branch of the corporation continues the express mail service that it started during the current year with regard to parcels and letters to various countries of the world, at a lower cost than private sector companies, indicating that there are a number of difficulties encountered in the workflow, the most important of which is the shortage of manpower and the lack of financial funds allocated compared to the high Prices of labor supplies and costs.
