A few hours before the national memorial ceremony for the murdered teacher Samuel Paty, the French public prosecutor reported on new findings about the Islamist attack.
You accuse seven suspects of complicity in a murder with a terrorist background, said anti-terrorist prosecutor Jean-François Ricard.
No formal investigation proceedings have yet been opened.
One of the suspects is the father of a schoolgirl who mobilized against the teacher online.
Ricard reported that he had exchanged several messages with the 18-year-old attacker before the act.
There is a direct connection between the Father's messages and the deed.
A week before the attack, his father complained on Facebook that Paty had shown his students cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.
In a message accompanied by a video, he called for action against the history teacher.
The 47-year-old Paty was beheaded by the 18-year-old on Friday near his school on the street.
The attacker of Chechen origin was shot dead by police shortly afterwards.
Since then, the police have been involved in dozens of operations against people and associations who are alleged to belong to or are close to the Islamist spectrum.
Two minors aged 14 and 15 are also suspect.
"The investigation found that the perpetrator had the teacher's family name, school name and location, but could not identify the teacher," said Ricard.
The minors would then have identified the teacher Paty for money.
The attack sparked protests and horror across the country.
In the evening, a memorial service with Head of State Emmanuel Macron in the venerable Parisian Sorbonne University was to commemorate the teacher.
