A woman left her newborn daughter in the "Di Cristina" children's hospital in Palermo after the result of the swab on Covid which reported the positivity of the child. Last week the woman went to the emergency room with the newborn for the swab. After the outcome and the positivity she was dismissed due to the procedures, but the woman never returned to the hospital and is nowhere to be found.
"The medical staff tried for days to contact the mother - explains Dr. Marilù Furnari, of the health management of Di Cristina - But we were unable to reach her. At that point we alerted the police of the possible abandonment of the child".
