The State Attorney's Office submitted a notice of appeal to the Supreme Court regarding the lightness of the sentence of Shalom Ben Sheetrit, a resident of Haifa who was convicted of committing sexual offenses, including rape, on three members of his family.

The Haifa District Court sentenced him only two months ago to only 12 years in prison, after he was acquitted by the same court, but was found guilty of appealing the state's decision to the Supreme Court.

Advocate Reli Guttman, who represented the complainants, said after the sentencing that "the torture was terrible." She noted

that "he will finally go to prison for serial rapists within the family," but added that she felt great disappointment at the very lenient punishment. Remember that he committed serious offenses within the family for decades, with several complainants, "she stressed.

According to the state, the punishment does not match the severity of the acts, the circumstances of the offenses spread over three decades, the injury to three generations of family members as minors, and the tragedy. The deep and extraordinary Dorit that occurred in the family following the discovery. The consequences of the injury that harmed the souls of the complainants are extremely severe.

The state appealed his acquittal, focusing on the district court's legal errors as to how it examined the evidence presented to it.

Following the cancellation of the acquittal and the sentence that sent him to prison, Shalom Ben Sheetrit turned to Adv. Zion Amir, who last week filed an appeal on his behalf over the severity of the sentence handed down to him in the district court, which unanimously acquitted him dramatically.

The Supreme Court accepted the appeal of the

sentence.
