The soldier, who managed to move away, was not injured.

An investigation for

"attempted homicide of a person holding public authority"

was opened by the Paris prosecutor's office.

The seven occupants of the two cars, including two minors, were arrested and then taken into custody overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, the prosecution said.

According to RTL, they are three men and four women.

Both cars had fake license plates and investigators suspect the drivers of being part of the US-based "Hit and Run" violence movement, according to the radio.

The investigations were entrusted to the 1st district of judicial police, said the prosecution.
