Claiming that the president of the United States is a denier, as some critics do, is a costly mistake.
Donald Trump is the most influential liar in the world.
If it fails on November 3, supporters like Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro will lose their supreme chief and be isolated, and other acolytes who show up in different countries can prod before wreaking havoc.
If he wins, the next phase could be increased violence and authoritarianism in fragile democracies.
