The Syrian Corporation for Trade branch in Lattakia started drawing the crop directly from farmers as part of the procedures to reduce costs for them.
The branch manager, Shady Dalla, stated in a statement to the SANA reporter that the corporation takes the material daily from farmers to market it through the branch sales outlets and its lounges in the governorate in addition to marketing it to other governorates to put it in the corporation's halls.
Dalaleh explained that the Corporation provides the mechanisms and packages to farmers, which contributes to reducing costs by a good rate, which is acceptable to farmers, stressing that the prices are consistent with the prevailing prices in the market.
He believed that this measure would contribute to breaking the commercial mediation circles of the wholesale stores in the cardamom market and the coumisan, thus providing the material at a better price to consumers and improving the income level of farmers at the same time.
For his part, farmer Issa Al-Shaer pointed out during the acquisition of part of his production in his land in the village of Ain Al-Laban in the countryside of Lattakia that the initiative saved him a lot of costs, time and effort that was required to transport the crop to the Al-Hal market and said: “The farmer in this case is in need of buying the packages and paying the commission to the merchants. “.
Dalia Suleiman, from Al-Jandiriya village, pointed out that this step could contribute to improving the market situation and increasing competition for the benefit of farmers.
