The Archdiocese of Mexico reported that it works to encourage the population to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe this coming December 11 and 12 "from their communities, as a family and virtually, to avoid crowds" in the Basilica of Mexico City . The celebrations are manifested in huge pilgrimages, where according to the authorities, between 8 and 10 million people arrive in the capital of Mexico. The Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, said that this annual celebration represents a very high risk of contagion of covid-19.
