The Eastern District Court of New York was in charge of handling the cases of the former leader of the Sinaloa cartel, Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, as well as the former Nayarit prosecutor Édgar Veytia, who have already received a conviction.
Now he is handling the case of the former Secretary of Public Security of Mexico, Genaro García Luna and is about to initiate a trial against the former Secretary of National Defense of Mexico, Salvador Cienfuegos.
The common denominator of all these characters is linked to drug trafficking.
