Various paragraphs of folklore in Syria, the Levant, and the Arab world in general included in the folklore ceremony hosted by the Adawi Cultural Center under the title “Folklore - Memory of a Nation”.
The ceremony held by the Society for the Revival, Protection and Documentation of Folklore on the occasion of the October holidays, Tariq Hayba, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, spoke at the beginning of the role of heritage in preserving the identity of peoples, especially in times of crisis, pointing out that this ceremony is the first for the association after the departure of its founder and former president Dr. Mahjoub Ibrahim Hayba Last March, who was a poet Zajal and a heritage researcher, left several books.
Then a number of dancers performed Mawlawi performances led by Ali Diban on the tones of the Andalusian muwashahat, such as Jadik Al Ghaith and O Pure Ghosn led by Bashar Al Bayad.
The child Osama al-Khidr played the marjooz, tones inspired by the heritage, accompanied by the percussionist Louay Farhood, and the same as the player's Youssef Ahmed Youssef did on the bagpipes.
The media official in the association and the heritage researcher reviewed pictures from the history of Damascus through the ages, its antiquity, its heritage and its historical cultural superiority over all world capitals.
Then children from the association’s buds presented a poetic paragraph entitled “Cherry Flashes” under the supervision of Hussein Al-Saleh, during which they read texts of national poetry and then performed a representative scene about the need to honor the martyr and his family, written by Omar Ayoub and directed by Hassan Hinnawi.
At the end of the ceremony, a number of the sheikhs of the Karr were honored at the Dumr Al-Crafts incubator, accompanied by the songs of the Al-Arada group.
