The 51-year-old man was also sentenced to two years in prison, one of which was suspended and banned from contacting the victim.

Angoulême is one of the first five jurisdictions (with Bobigny, Douai, Pontoise and Aix-en-Provence) where the anti-rapprochement bracelet is tested before being generalized to the entire territory on December 31.
The condemned man will thus not be able to approach within 3km of his ex-partner who lives in the agglomeration of Angoulême.
He had already been sentenced in the spring of 2019 for violence and sexual assault on this same ex-girlfriend.
Despite a ban on contact, he continued to threaten her from prison through letters.
On his release from prison, he continued his threats by SMS in March 2020 and then in August.

The Charente jurisdiction currently has three anti-reconciliation bracelets.
This device, officially launched in September by the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti, is one of the Grenelle's promises to fight against feminicides.
Claimed for years, the electronic bracelet, which hangs on the ankle, makes it possible to geolocate violent spouses or ex-spouses and to trigger an alert system when they approach beyond a defined perimeter of their victim, who has a box that she must always keep with her.
If the holder of the bracelet gets too close, he will be immediately contacted by a remote assistance platform.
