Delinquency in Paris: sharp rise in business burglaries

Business and corporate burglaries increased by almost 60% in Paris in the third quarter compared to the same period in 2019.

Between July and September, some 1,355 "commercial establishments and companies" were burgled, against 858 last year (+ 57.93%), according to figures from the police headquarters.

Over the first nine months of the year, these burglaries increased by 50.81%.

Burglaries of main residences fell slightly (-3.05%).

If the burglaries are increasing, their perpetrators have also been more identified by the police, who clarified 82 more facts than in 2019 over the same period, an increase of 13.33%.

Physical violence, villainous or not, remains globally stable (-0.27%), but domestic violence has recorded a significant increase (+ 6.79%).

Linked to the health crisis, administrative checks on “drinking establishments and establishments” rose by nearly 25% with 1,069 places inspected.
