The Corona Superintendent insists that the Cabinet decide on the issue at the beginning of the week • The main difficulty: an outline for opening first and second grades • The parents: "Do not wait with the return for five weeks"

Some of the classrooms will be able to open a week after we receive the decision in the Corona Cabinet ": This is what the Corona's commissioner, Prof. Roni Gamzo, told the High Court yesterday.

He said, "On Sunday you have to make decisions about the education system. You have to work feverishly over the weekend to reach decisions in the cabinet."

Regarding the next phase of the relief, Gamzo said: "There is no industry without trade. We need to find a path to this. We will work on it with the Ministry of Finance. It will be a risk to open trade together with the return of part of the education system. It's simple for us. We have discussions on the subject. "

And while the Corona Cabinet refuses to make any decision regarding the return of primary schools to routine, parents in turn become more desperate and lose faith in the system.

Recall that according to the outline presented by the Ministry of Health, grades 1-4 were supposed to return when there were up to 1,000 patients a day.

It seems that the State of Israel is very close to such morbidity data, but according to the statements of the Minister of Health, the education system is not about to open soon.

In the field, too, principals, teachers and assistants have not been instructed to prepare for the opening in the coming days.

According to the outline of the Ministry of Health, returning to school in the fifth-twelfth grades will only have a morbidity of up to 250 patients and below per day.

The big problem for the Ministries of Education, Health and Finance was the demand for capsules in grades 1-2, which the Ministry of Education claims will cost about NIS 1 billion and take at least five weeks, during which students will probably study rotation, and there will be no distance learning due to teacher shortages.

Meanwhile, the national parent leadership has a full stomach for the decision-makers: "We demand that first- and sixth-graders return to school as early as the second phase of the closure, and not have to wait another five weeks, which means disaster."

Also, according to experts from the Hebrew University and Hadassah, a document published by senior officials in the Ministry of Health and presented in the cabinet, as if children are a "sticking engine" to Corona, presents incorrect facts and misinterpretations and ignores the vital role of schools in children's mental and physical development.

The document was published yesterday, according to which morbidity among children is higher than in the older age groups.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed support for increasing the fines for those who violate the corona guidelines and hinted that the ultra-Orthodox sector would be particularly harmed.
