Peter Held, called Bätsch, died at the age of 66 - on his birthday.

The heart no longer cooperated.

Olching

- The father had known about the health problems for a long time, reports Peter Held junior, himself a long-time player and coach with the Olching team.

However, around the middle of September, the father learned how serious the condition was.

“He took it easy,” said Held junior, one of three sons who were or are still in the service of SC Olching.

In addition, Held senior leaves behind two other children and eight grandchildren.

What is important to son Peter despite all the sadness: "Our father and we were able to consciously say goodbye to each other." Because the day before the whole family had come together again, could pursue their thoughts and exchange a few words with the father.

In this role, but also as a football expert, son Peter has fond memories of the senior.

He always listened and, in a sense, had good advice in his pocket.

"And in the end he brought us to football."

In this sport the deceased devoted himself as a coach primarily to the youth, who for him always represented the future of the club.

In recent years he has supported SC Olching as a committed and carefully working groundsman.

In this role he experienced bitter relegations and in 2016 he experienced the greatest success in the club's history: promotion to the regional league, in which his son Peter played a key role as coach.

"Bätsch" Held showed passion, cheered, but always remained realistic.

The sons Martin and Stefan are currently in the squad and, despite the painful loss of their father, played against TSV Jetzendorf.

The team competed in honor of Held with a black ribbon.

Before the game began, the deceased was remembered with a moving moment of mourning.

"If it's a g'scheida Himme, then there'll be good Fuaßboi g'spuid", wrote those responsible at SC Olching on the website.

"And sixty wins the Heavenly League," they added to their memory.

Because Peter “Bätsch” Held was also a big fan of the lions.
