Palestinian media report that the IDF is currently attacking the Gaza Strip. According to reports, these are attacks on the terrorist organization's underground targets in the center and south of the Strip, including at the Erin site belonging to al-Qassam Brigades. Islamic Jihad warned tonight ( Thursday) on Twitter that "an Israeli bombing will be answered by a counter-bombing."

Earlier tonight, two rocket launches were identified towards the territories of the State of Israel, one of which fell in an open area near Ashkelon.

The IDF claimed that one rocket was intercepted by fighters from the Iron Dome system. Magen David Adom reported that no calls were received in the area following the shooting.

This week, the IDF located an offensive terrorist tunnel that penetrated the border with the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, IDF Spokesman Brigadier General Hedi Zilberman said during a press briefing. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified: Any attempt to harm our sovereignty or our citizens. "

The tunnel was identified thanks to an underground barrier, the construction of which will be completed in March 2021. So far, about 60 km of the barrier have been built, leaving three kilometers to complete. For the construction of the upper fence, work remains on a larger range.

Brigadier General Zilberman described the construction of the terror tunnel as a "clear violation of sovereignty."

This is an area trapped between the Hoovers axis and the underground barrier that is located tens of meters, sometimes even 100 meters inside Israeli territory. "

The IDF spokesman emphasized that "at no stage did the tunnel pose a risk to nearby localities." At present, it is not known who is the organization behind the construction of the tunnel. We will continue to work to neutralize the tunnel in the coming days. "

Many tunnels have been located in recent years, but this is the first to encounter an obstacle.

Since Operation Resilient Cliff, about 20 terrorist tunnels have been exposed so far.

"Building such a tunnel costs a lot of money at the expense of Gaza residents," said Brigadier General Zilberman. "Locating the tunnel with the help of the barrier is another expression of the IDF's leap. Regardless of the tunnel's organizational affiliation, everything that happens in Gaza is Hamas' responsibility." And we are prepared and ready for any development and scenario. "
