Anyone who comes to Nashville, the legendary music city of the South, may think that the upcoming election and the presidential confrontation it is hosting between Thursday and Friday are just another tourist attraction.

Being here is as far east as west of the cleft polar existence of social networks.

The people here have solid political opinions, and this should not be underestimated, but they do not seem to let politics ruin their joy of life.

If Donald Trump wants a shot of encouragement before the election, he's recommended he visit Wendell Smith's Restaurant.

This is one of the most famous and good diners Nashville has to offer.

This is the kind of place that offers t-shirts and visor caps for sale, alongside locally grown tomatoes and bananas.

The heavy southern accent among the guests of the place immediately opens the heart.

Welcome to the southern United States.

The entrance with a mask and the social distance made the restaurant half empty, but there was no lack of atmosphere.

I sit at the bar and three chairs away from me (social distance required) diner Mark - retiree, father of six and grandfather of 20 grandchildren.

He moved to the city from Chicago.

"Will you watch tonight's confrontation?"

IM asking.

"Why me," Mark replies.

"One with a foot in the grave and the other I can not stand."

"What do you not like about Trump?", "Everything," Mark replies.

"He only thinks of himself. He does not care about anyone."

"So will you vote for Biden?", I say.

"Leiden? The 47-year-old man has done nothing. He can not and should not be president."

Mark admits that apart from his wife being democratic at heart, he is surrounded by Trump voters like everyone who sits around us and comes to the diner.

"But I heard the women are not voting for him," I say.

Let's be asked.

Jennifer, one of the place's employees, approaches: "Here everyone is Trump, women and men alike, everyone including everyone."

"Does that include you?", I ask.

"Certainly. I love him and think he's a great president."

Her friend Lori also joins the conversation: "Come to my neighborhood in Dixon County and see that everyone is Trump. It's true that many are ashamed to say they vote for him because of media influence. Here, my daughter, for example, she will not vote for him because her friends tell her he hates gays and disrespects "But it's a lie. I think in the end he will win because the adults and the educated class, at least here in Tennessee, understand that he is good for America."

Trump will win Tennessee electors, so there is no close battle in this country.

But it turns out that even in a country where Trump will win the walk are still afraid to express support for him in public.

If this is the case in Republican Tennessee, perhaps the polls could be wrong in the rest of the U.S., and especially in key states, where electors are not guaranteed to either side.

Either way, Joe Biden once again managed to thwart his own campaign when he said on Wednesday that "America is an idea we have never been able to realize."

Presumably Trump will attack Biden on this unfortunate statement, because this is exactly the most sensitive point of the American left, which for years has been trying to shake up the image created for it as if it were the apologetic side in America, versus the Republicans confident in America's destiny.

Back to Nashville.

The city has churches everywhere, as befits a city in the U.S. Bible belt.

There are also a lot of young people here, also because of Belmont University, which is hosting the confrontation.

And one can sense how desperate the city is to get back to routine, but at the same time determined not to let the corona crisis, or the election crisis, ruin the joy of life of the city of music.

It's hard to find Republicans, even though Tennessee is one of the reddest states.

This is because here, too, Republicans love the suburbs, and let the city centers be democratic.

But if one strives, even within Nashville, Republicans are found en masse.

Like the waitress team at the diner I was at.

Everyone has an opinion about Trump, hates him very much and alternatively - fall in love with him.

I walk out of the diner and meet Patty, who was just on her way out as well.

She is 85 years old and a devout Christian.

"My dream is to come to Israel, to be immersed in Jordan. I pray that Biden will win. Trump divides us too much. Biden will return the White House to what it was."

I did not ask her what it was like to grow up as a black in a southern city, before the abolition of racial segregation.

It is possible that the difficult experiences of that period also led her to support Biden.

The owner of the place, Benji, is also outside.

He tells me the place has been around for 70 years, a little less than the age of Biden and Trump.

I ask him why there is no sense of election in the city, and he replies: "The media is the party. Only it is responsible for that."

"Like tossing a coin"

The driver of my "Uber" taxi is black, young.

Its name is India.

I ask her if her condition is better today than it was four years ago.

Her answer is an absolute "no".

But she does not explain why.

Then I ask directly what her position is on Trump.

Her response: "He is terrible, he is racist."

Here too, without explaining.

Then she honestly tells me that "Biden is not as good as a candidate either, but I know a lot of people who vote for him because of Harris (who, as is well known, is a historic candidate because of her black background)."

Finally I ask her who will win.

She says "it would be like tossing a coin."
