Germany is reacting to developments in Italy.

The regions of Aosta Valley, Umbria, Lombardy, Piedmont, Tuscany, Veneto, Latium, Abrruzzo, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Sardinia and the autonomous province of Bolzano - and thus South Tyrol - are now also considered risk areas.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) put other regions and areas on the red list on Thursday morning due to the increasing number of corona infections.

According to the RKI, the official travel warning will take effect from Saturday, October 24th at 00.00.

For the South Tyrolean tourism experts, the nightmare has come true, because the winter season is just around the corner and with it the opportunity for many to earn money with ski vacationers.

But now German travelers and all those who enter the Federal Republic of Germany from South Tyrol would have to go into quarantine for ten days from Saturday or submit a negative corona test.
