Bavaria is currently once again one of the federal states in which the most infections with the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus are recorded per 100,000 inhabitants.
If the map below was often largely gray in the past few months, the corona traffic light gradually changed to increasingly critical colors.
We continue to display these events on a daily basis.

By the way, a word about the name: Covid-19 describes the disease that the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus can trigger - but does not have to.
The overarching term coronavirus had become naturalized at the beginning of the appearance for what is medically correctly called Sars-CoV-2.

We color them according to threshold values;

: The above daily graphic takes into account all new cases of positive tests for the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus for the respective day.
Since not all health authorities transmit all the figures on weekends, it is possible that lower case numbers appear initially, which increase in the following days due to late reports.
Likewise, significantly fewer cases are often tested and / or reported on the weekend, which means that the respective daily values can be lower.

How up-to-date the numbers are
: From around 2 p.m. onwards, all diagrams and maps contain the most current status of all reported cases from each district (on weekends the transmission is sometimes a little later).
We integrate all data seven days a week.
Good to know: In general, for all coronavirus * numbers, the actual number of cases is always higher than the reported.
On the one hand, due to a lack of laboratory capacity, tests are currently only performed for symptoms of the disease.
On the other hand, even after a positive test for the Sars-CoV-2 virus, some time still passes because health authorities are currently overloaded and some cases are delayed.
In addition, a few rural districts are currently only showing new data with a delay;

Transparency: Our data, sources and methods
We obtain all data from the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL).
Since they have direct access to the information from all local health authorities, the values are available here faster than, for example, at the Robert Koch Institute.
In an automated process, we collect all LGL data, adjust and enrich it.
They then become part of our daily updated diagrams and maps.
