In view of the increasing number of infections, several countries in Europe have tightened their measures in the corona crisis.

For example, Poland closes all restaurants from Saturday and prohibits gatherings with more than five people.

Belgium closes the amusement parks.

And in the Czech Republic the health minister has to vacate his post because he violated his own regulations.

As the government in

Denmark

announced, no more than ten people will be allowed to gather in one place from Monday.

Previously, the limit was 50. In addition, kiosks and supermarkets are no longer allowed to sell alcohol after 10 p.m.

"Corona is not over, on the contrary, it is back with full force," said Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at a press conference.

She asked the Danes to limit their personal contacts to ten people.

For the period from October 29 to January 2, 2021, the mandatory face mask will also be extended.

It then applies not only to public transport, but to all rooms that are publicly accessible.

This also applies specifically to supermarkets, libraries and take-away restaurants.

On Saturday night, new restrictions on entry into Denmark will also come into force.

Anyone entering from Germany must now provide a valid reason.

This can be visiting relatives, work or study.

The residents of Schleswig-Holstein can continue to travel to Denmark.

Frederiksen announced that controls at the border would be tightened by the end of the year.

Distance learning for the majority of Polish students

In

Poland

, the number of infections compared to the population is now almost three times as high as in Germany.

The country must slow the spread of the corona virus, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

The catering is initially closed for two weeks, but can be extended.

Distance learning by computer was prescribed for all pupils from the fourth grade onwards.

Children and young people up to the age of 16 are only allowed to leave the house or apartment between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the day if accompanied by an adult.

After the Czech Republic,

Belgium

is the country with the second highest number of infections in the EU in relation to its population.

The amusement parks must initially close for the next four weeks.

A maximum of 40 people are allowed to take part in cultural, religious or other events inside, as long as the Corona rules are observed.

If a distance of at least one and a half meters is guaranteed, there can be up to 200 people who must, however, wear a mask.

At universities, the rooms may not be used more than 20 percent;

Here too, a mask is required.

Exceptions apply in the first year of study.

At sporting events, spectators are again banned.

If possible, people should continue to work from home.

The Czech health minister should go

In

the Czech Republic

, the restaurants are closed already for one and a half weeks.

Health Minister Roman Prymula apparently visited one anyway.

The newspaper "Blesk" photographed the politician and epidemiologist as he leaves a luxury restaurant in the evening without wearing a mask.

Prime Minister Andrej Babis announced that he had asked the 56-year-old to submit his resignation.

Otherwise he will be released.

The minister's misconduct is "inexcusable".

In

Latvia,

too, the restrictions on the population are tightened.

The government in Riga is reducing the number of participants allowed to events to ten people indoors and 100 people outdoors.

The new restriction applies from Saturday.

From Monday onwards, no more than 300 people may come together in rooms at public and economic events.

The new rules are initially limited to November 15th.

In addition, the government decided that the mask requirement in public places should be expanded.

In the Baltic EU country, for example, mouth protection must be worn at events with fixed and personalized seats.

So far, there has been an exception.

The time limitation of the mask requirement until November 6th has also been lifted - it is now unlimited.

New travel warnings for EU regions

From midnight, the travel warning issued by the Foreign Office on Thursday will apply to Switzerland, almost all of Austria, large parts of Italy, Poland and some other regions in the European Union.

In addition to the travel warning, the new compulsory test for commuters from corona risk areas in Bavaria is particularly rejected in Austria.

Politicians and business representatives criticize the weekly corona test that commuters have been demanding since Friday.

"A certain amount of preparation time would have been desirable," said Günther Platter, head of Tyrol.

From Saturday, a travel warning from the Foreign Office will apply to all of Austria with the exception of the federal state of Carinthia and two small exclaves on the German border.

If you enter Germany without a current, negative Corona test result, you have to go into quarantine, from which you can later be "tested".

Exceptions apply to commuters.

From November 8th, travelers from Austria can only free themselves from quarantine after five days with a test.
