The number of infections in the district is increasing.

It is only a matter of time before the Corona traffic light is also turned red in Bad Tölz.

Especially clubs and bars that do their main business in the evening have been hit hard by the earlier curfew.

  • More and more corona infections in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district

  • If the Corona-Apel is set to red, there is a curfew for restaurants from 10 p.m.

  • Club and bar owners are very concerned

Bad Tölz - Currently, the corona traffic light is yellow due to the increasing number of cases in the district.

That means: restaurants and bars have to close at 11 p.m.

But the next warning level is not far away.

If there are over 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the district within seven days, the corona traffic light switches to red. This means that there is a curfew from 10 p.m.

For some bar owners, this is an economic disaster.

“I had to close for five months on the first lockdown.

If things go on like this, the situation will no longer be acceptable to me, ”says Philip Behler, owner of the“ Shelter Music Pub ”in Bad Tölz.

It has opened again since mid-August.

"That went very well, but no comparison to before Corona, I was able to let in a lot fewer guests," he describes the past few months.

Business has plummeted for two weeks.

“You can tell that people are afraid again.” So far, his pub has been open from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

“This weekend I'll try to open at 7 p.m., but in my experience the guests rarely come before 9:30,” reports Behler.

"If there is a curfew from 10 p.m., we have to close again."

"Situation no longer threatening the existence, but devastating"

Johannes Mottl, co-owner of the “Pistolero” at Moraltpark, has a similar experience: “The situation is no longer threatening the existence of restaurateurs who have their main business in the evening, but rather devastating.” Together with his business partner Michael Widmayer he had the concept after the lockdown converted from dance catering to lounge operation.

“That was well received.

We also had almost ten rentals for private parties, ”reports Mottl.

But even in the “Pistolero” the guests don't actually come until later in the evening.

"We're trying the whole thing again this weekend with earlier opening times," he says.

But it is also clear that the situation is becoming more and more precarious.

If nothing changes in the situation, one has to think about stopping operations in the spring.

“That depends on whether we are supported by the state.

So far we have only received emergency aid, no bridging aid, ”says Mottl.

"If our landlord hadn't waived the lease, we would have had to close."

Jailhouse owners are also considering closing again for the time being due to curfew

Mottl's landlord is himself a restaurateur battered by the crisis: Peter Frech runs the “Jailhouse” at Moraltpark.

“Since the lockdown, it's not like it used to be.

We can only serve 80 instead of 300 guests, ”he explains.

With the curfew, a lot is also lost.

“We don't open until 5pm.

Most of them don't come to dinner until around 8 p.m. ”Going out under time pressure - that's no longer fun.

If there is a curfew from 10 p.m., Frech is also playing with the idea of closing his bar completely.

With Ute Wagner, owner of the “Click” bar, the situation is no different: “If I have to close at 10 p.m., I can smoke the business in the pipe.” In addition, she hardly has any young regulars.

“People who are over 50 are even more cautious and are afraid of getting infected.

You have to understand that too. "

"Government wants to pretend pseudo security"

The "Kesselhaus" is also very busy in the evenings.

"Normally something is going on on weekends until 3 am, during the week until 1 am," says owner Ingo Kohls.

“The curfew is of course a lot going on.” In the past few weeks he has noticed that many guests prefer to sit outside despite falling temperatures.

So he left an outer tent open and provided warmth with ceiling spotlights.

“We try everything to create as much security as possible.

We even have special virus filters in our ventilation system, ”he explains.

For him, “curfew is nonsense.

There is screwing in the wrong places so that the government can pretend a pseudo security. "
